Prehistoric Wonderland

Wow, could this be? How could I have slept through this? There's a Triceratops, a Stegosaurus, and a Brachiosaurus! It's a good thing they're all herbivores, otherwise I'd be lunch! I've gotta see more...

Huh, I don't remember my house being this big. Even the Brachiosaurus can stand straight up. Ha, the Triceratops is letting me pet it, how funny.

Oh. My. Goodness...

They're everywhere! How did I get so lucky? I've always wanted to meet dinosaurs, and now they're here!

I began to frolic in my recently sizable house. I fed the dinosaurs, hugged them, and even slid down the Brachiosaurus' neck like a slide! If you can't tell by now, that one was my favorite. I named him Edgar, even though I don't know if it was a boy or girl. Edgar was my best friend in that moment, and I couldn't have been happier about it.

I looked everywhere for my family, they had to come see how amazing everything was. My dad found me eventually, took me by the arm, and led me away. He said, "Come on CBar, it's dangerous, they're gonna hurt you." I fought and screamed, but nothing worked. He locked me in my room and my fun was over.

But wait, what's that sound outside my window? I opened my curtains and saw all these flying dinosaurs everywhere. But then I saw who alerted me originally, it was Edgar! I know dinosaurs can't smile, but it looked like he did, and I smiled back and laughed. I opened the window and gave him a big hug.

"Edgar, once my dad goes to sleep I can come out and play again. Wait for me, okay?"

Edgar nodded at me in approval, and I closed the curtains so my dad wouldn't see if he came in. I waited and waited until I couldn't stay awake anymore, then I dozed off to sleep.

This dream was short-lived. As sad as it is, Edgar still hasn't visited my dreams again since I was a child. I miss my best friend, but I hope he's making another kid happy somewhere else in the world. I don't think I'll ever forget the night we had, all in my own prehistoric wonderland.

In remembrance,

CBar
